What to Expect

Our worship service is held Sundays at 4:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church located at 258 Concord Street in Newton, MA.  Dress is casual.

The liturgy is centered on a reading from the Bible, followed by a sermon and the celebration of Communion.  Worship also includes singing led by a worship leader, corporate as well as private prayer, and opportunities for silent reflection and meditation.

While we offer Nursery Care and Children's Church, please know that children are always welcome in the worship service and the sanctuary.

Nursery Care

Our nursery room is located downstairs and is designed to provide safe care for infants, babies or toddlers through age 3 on Sunday. Parents will be asked to sign their children in at drop off and leave any special instructions for the caregivers.

Children's Church

We offer two children's classes for ages 4-8.  Children are dismissed from the worship service before the sermon and escorted back to the sanctuary to either participate in or observe the Lord’s Supper at the end of the service.

  • 3-4 yrs old (pre-K)

  • 5-8 yrs old (K-2nd grade)

While the needs of individual children and families will differ, we expect children ages 9 and older will choose to participate in the entire service.

It is our hope that our children’s programs will be a vehicle through which our children mature in their understanding of God’s love for them through Jesus.  However, these programs are entirely optional and children are always welcome in the service and in the sanctuary!
