Wait In Silence (Psalm 62)
Do Not Covet: Deuteronomy 5:21
To covet or to desire God's law is a good thing, but to covet or be envious of someone is to be discontent with what God has given you or made you to be and leads to greed and broken relationship.
False Witness: Deuteronomy 5:20
False witness tears down society by twisting or ignoring the truth and slandering the image of God that we all bear.
Stealing: Deuteronomy 5:19
It's hard to point the finger inward and ask "Am I a thief? Do I take what is not mine?" We take because deep down we believe that we won't be provided for.
Adultery: Deuteronomy 5:19
Adultery is not only a sin against the spouse and against God, it is also a sin against the family of God, the church community. Do you trust and believe that the God who raised Jesus from the dead can bring new life into your heart and marriage?
Anger, Hatred, Murder
Our sin creates a hatred toward God. When we act in anger and hatred towards God and our fellow man, there is murder in our hearts.
The New Family: Deuteronomy 5:16
God commands us to honor our Father and Mother. Jesus says the church is our new family, and ultimately helps us to heal and bring love into our own family.
Rest: Deuteronomy 5:12-15
On the 7th day, when God had finished His work, He rested and enjoyed His labor.
God's Image: Deuteronomy 5:11
When we speak, we do so bearing the image of God. Do not lift up the name of Yahweh to worthlessness.
